Durban Gen Actress Nelisiwe Sibiya Breaks Down As She Recalls Her Dad Being Killed In front Of Her
We live in such a horrible world and children at times are left traumatised. Durban Gen actress and singer Nelisiwe Sibiya is one of the people that has experienced a lot of heartbreaks and trauma during her childhood.
The actress recently remembered a horrible experience that she went through as a child. What triggered her memory was the Durban Gen’s shooting scene of Lindani. Taking her fans through her trauma Nelisiwe revealed that her father was shot dead in front of her.

“Today’s shooting scene reminded me of how I got traumatized after shooting it. It brought back all the pain when I was young, at the age of eight or nine, when my dad was shot in front of me. All the trauma we went through with my siblings when my father was hunted down and eventually killed by guns.”.
She went on to tell her fans how her father’s incident left and how she learnt to allow the process of healing to take its course. “I remember I cried so hard and got really sick. Sense of memory really dribbled me that day.“It taught me how important it is to deal with our childhood trauma … I remember I had to go home for a whole weekend just to recover. Playing the character of Mbali in Durban Gen is nothing but a blessing … I am acting but at the same time I’m healing,” Nelisiwe concluded.
