Gomora: Teddy And Langa Praised For Their Acting. The latest episode of Gomora Mzansi, which aired this Friday. 11 December 2020, was dubbed one of the most-touching from the drama.
Teddy, who’s become a victim of rape to new business teacher Miss Manzi has been struggling to cope in school following the consistent sexual and emotional abuse from Manzi.
Penning a letter explaining why he hasn’t been himself, he handed the letter over to his friend Langa to give to his family before leaving Gomora. Langa, however, read the letter and after realising what his friend has been going through, he ran back to stop him from fleeing. Their confrontation was a super emotional one and saw the boys breaking into tears. Fans have taken to social media to show appreciation and reflect on the episode.
A few weeks, Mzansi Magic came under fire for their insensitive tweet promoting the Telenovela. The current storyline on Gomora forces viewers to engage in a much-needed conversation and awareness around sexual abuse in males. A topic that is often overlooked.
To think at some point, Sicelo – who’s quickly become one of SA’s most-loved actors – wanted to quit acting. “I once decided to quit acting two hours later I bathed and went to rehearsals,” he shared on his Instagram stories.
Chatting to us, the revealed that he always dreamt about being on TV.
“It’s crazy because I have always seen myself as a soccer player, while I grew up I saw myself as a TV personality, so in my mind I would play soccer and be on TV.
“Growing up I used to look up to Msawawa, I’ve always seen me in him, my career in TV was inspired by the likes of Mxolisi Masilela, Oupa Malatjie the theater gurus from Tembisa,” he added.
