On the 24th of December 2022, the South African department of entertainment industry was hit by devastating news on the passing away of veteran musician Mandla Maphumulo well known as Mampintsha.

He died following the minor stroke but unfortunately he didn’t recover. The KwaZulu-Natal province stepped in to help the family with some financial assistance for funeral arrangements.

The KwaZulu-Natal provincial Government informed public that they will assist the family with 50% of the total cost.

The KwaZulu-Natal provincial government said R320 000 was given to Mampintsha’s family.

The KwaZulu-Natal provincial government has denied claims that it paid R50 million for the funeral costs of Mandla ‘Mampintsha’ Maphumulo. This brought division on public with some against the decision by provincial government of assisting financial while he’s just an individual not part of the government or maybe a hero but just an artist.
