Over R450K Raised to Bring Late Cape Town Rapper Bravo Le Roux Home. More than R450,000 has already been raised in a public fundraising campaign aimed at bringing the remains of late Cape Town rapper and music producer Bravo Le Roux back to South Africa following his tragic passing in Switzerland.

Bravo Le Roux, born Sinesipho Peter, passed away on Thursday, 22 January, while abroad. He was just 30 years old. News of his death sent shockwaves through the local music industry, with fans, fellow artists, and supporters expressing disbelief and deep sorrow at the sudden loss of a young artist whose career and personal life were still unfolding.
Family Launches Fundraiser After Outpouring of Support
In the days following his death, Bravo’s family revealed that they had been inundated with messages from people asking how they could assist during this incredibly difficult time. In response, the family decided to launch a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the costs associated with repatriating his body from Switzerland to South Africa
International repatriation expenses can be extremely high, often involving complex legal, logistical, and transport arrangements. The family explained that the funds raised would not only go toward bringing Bravo home but would also help secure long-term financial support for his young daughter, who was left behind by his untimely passing.
As of the latest update, the fundraiser has collected CHF22,188, which is approximately R456,000, representing around 23% of the campaign’s CHF100,000 goal (roughly R2 million).
“Many people have asked how they can support Bravo’s family during this time,” the family said in a statement shared on the fundraising page. “A fundraiser has been set up to help with his repatriation to South Africa and to provide long-term support for his daughter. Thank you for the love and respect.”
A Community United in Grief
The campaign has drawn support from fans across the country and beyond, highlighting the impact Bravo had not only as a musician but also as a person. Messages left on the fundraising page reflect a community united in grief, remembrance, and solidarity, with many contributors describing his kindness, creativity, and dedication to his craft.
Bravo was widely respected in Cape Town’s hip-hop and music scene, where he built a name for himself as both a rapper and producer. His passing has left a noticeable void in the industry, particularly among those who worked closely with him.
