After allegedly failing to reach an agreement with the producers, Vuyo Dabula is leaving the show and will not appear in the upcoming season.

“It’s true that Vuyo is no longer a part of the show and he will be greatly missed, but I can confirm that there are two new additions to the show that viewers can look forward to,” said Nandipha Pantsi who is apparently a Generations: The Legacy’s publicist.

Vuyo Dabula was a fan favorite as gangster Gadaffi, AKA Kumkani Phakade, who was always described as a “thug in a suit.” Vuyo Dabula was cast in Generations: The Legacy in 2014, and he was rumored to be leaving the show near the end of his run, but he later denied the claims.

This was due to his role in the hit Netflix series Queen Sono, starring Pearl Thusi, but the show was not renewed. The producers of Generations: The Legacy had given him an ultimatum to choose which production he would stay with, and he had chosen Queen Sono.

Much to his dismay, the Queen Sono got scrapped after announcing that season 2 was in the works. This lead to him regretting his decision to leave, and so he allegedly begged the producers to bring him back on the show.

This time he is calling it quits and another source added “He has left the Generations The Legacy for good this time, after a lot of back and forth. He has been with the show since 2014 and now he’s gone.

“This time, he’s definitely gone for good because he hasn’t been in studio for a while and his character has been scraped off, which means that he won’t feature in Season 31 of the show,” the source said.
