Eastern Cape mom who was murdered by boyfriend together with her 5 kids laid to rest.  The funeral of the mother Nomzamo Mhlanti(42) and her five kids who were brutally killed allegedly by axe on the 24 November is currently underway in Sidabekweni locality.

The funeral is attended by national prominent ministers including police minister Bheki Cele, provincial government officials lead by MEC Fundile Gade.

The six deceased mother Nomzamo Mhlanti and her children, Zakhiwe, Yibanati, Wineka, Thoko, and six-month-old Luphumlo Mhlanti were allegedly killed by the boyfriend Makula(32) who was the father of the three children twins Wineka and Thoko and six-month Luphumlo Mhlanti.

The alleged killer Makula after the incident he tried to flee the country, but police managed to arrest him. He was arrested on Thursday night the 26th November 2020, in Ginsberg, King Williams Town.

On Monday, 30 November he appeared at Elliotdale Magistrate Court, and the case was postponed to tomorrow 07 December for formal bail application.

During the suspect brief appearances last week, some family member’s including the sister Baliswa Sikhundwana collapsed inside the courtroom.

Since the family members were unemployed, the Transkei Funeral Practitioners Association (TRAFPA) which includes number of parlors donated a free funeral service for the family.

The heinous crime has shocked the country as South Africa was still marking the 16 Days of Activism for No violence against Women and Children.
