After having his foot amputated earlier this year, Israel Matseke-Zulu has struggled to find work.

The actor, also known as GP-MaOrange, stated that his life has been completely changed.

“Life is hard because I can’t get a job as an actor. I think my missing leg is the cause,” said Israel.

He left Mzansi Magic’s telenovela Gomora late last year, citing illness as the reason.

Following the amputation, the Joburg actor refused to see himself as unfit and auditioned for TV roles, but was not hired.

“I go to auditions, but I don’t get callbacks. I don’t want this to affect my mental health. It’s scary that life can change so drastically in such a short time,” said Israel. “I know I’m a talented actor and I haven’t lost hope. Maybe something will come up sooner or later.”
Despite the fact that he is not getting TV roles, Israel says he keeps himself busy.
