“Kiernan Knew That This Was His Last Project”- AKA’s Manager. According to slain South African rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes’ manager Nhlanhla ‘Nivo’ Ndimande, the rapper knew that Mass Country would be his last album.

The album was released on Friday, on the global streaming platform Spotify. Mass country features a number of emotionally charges songs where the late rapper pours his heart about his undying love for his girlfriend Nadia Nakai, his relationship with his ex-inlaws, and anxiety.
According to his manager, AKA knew spiritually that this would be his last body of work.
“It’s crazy for me to say this, but I think spiritually, Kiernan knew that this was his last project. He has never submitted an album so early in his life. Spiritually, he knew, even if he didn’t know consciously,” he told Sunday World.
Nzimande added, “Him adding Last Time and making it the first song on the album speaks volumes. It’s been a two-year process working on this album, from him giving us the vision and telling us what exactly he wanted to do. The first big camp we did for it, we went and recorded at a house in Mooi River.”
Nzimande said AKA kept on saying he was trying to do something that’s never been done before,
“There’s something he said in these sessions, he kept on saying he was trying to do something that he’s never done before. So, he needed everybody that was on the team to do something that they’d never done before. What AKA wanted to do was create an album that the people of South Africa could embrace and cherish,” Ndimande said.

Speaking about AKA’s album his mother Lynn Forbes said: “Kiernan was so proud of Mass Country. As a family, it was a pleasure to see his music’s evolution over the years. He played us this album over and over again. We’re happy the world finally gets to hear it.”
“AKA was one of the few people who could be classified as a South African Hip Hop megastar and we are honoured to be able to continue to share his music with his fans both in South Africa and all over the world,” says Warren Bokwe, Lead Music Strategy, and Operations for Spotify Sub-Saharan Africa.
Tweeps have reacted to the release of the album and they are loving it.
