Sbu Exiting Uzalo… Here’s Why. Sbu (Simphiwe Majozi) couldn’t believe his luck when Nkunzi (Masoja Msiza) came to him with a proposal that would ensure that he would be set financially for life.

Sbu just had to make a little sacrifice that, through his eyes, would cost him nothing but a little discomfort for just a few months. Boy, was he wrong!
WHAT’S THE DEAL?
Nkunzi’s son Sibonelo (Wiseman Ncube) is in prison for murdering a blogger whose body was found at his distillery.
She died accidentally while filming a vlog feature on the distillery and Sibonelo buried her, hoping that no one would find out and his business opening would be a success.
Nkunzi wants his son out of prison and the only way he can do that is to get Sbu to confess to the murder, and the men swap places.
Nkunzi offers Sbu R2 million and 5% ownership of Sibonelo’s distillery. Sbu will also only spend three months behind bars as Nkunzi has connections.
Sounds like an amazing deal for someone like Sbu who has nothing to lose.
BEWARE THE IDES OF MARCH
Soon Sbu is preparing himself to go to prison, saying his goodbyes to his loved ones with the hope that he will be home in a couple of months to live a rich, soft life. The very next day, while Sbu is getting into his orange prison uniform and settling into his new home and meeting his new roommates, Sibonelo is quietly released from prison.

An arrogant Sbu brags to the other inmates about his deal with Nkunzi and the nice things he’ll do for Sbu when he gets out after three months. “Sbu is even promising the other prisoners that he isn’t staying long, how he has a close relationship with Nkunzi and how Nkunzi is going to take care of him. He also says that when he gets out of prison, he will come back and bring them cigarettes,” explains Simphiwe. But this is KwaMashu’s biggest gangster we’re talking about and gullible Sbu might’ve gotten into trouble he can’t escape.
