School Tragedy | Four boys allegedly poisoned by father. Gauteng Basic Education Panyaza Lesufi believes the three deceased brothers may have been deliberately poisoned by their father.

He says the father also attempted suicide.

Lesufi expressed his sadness at the tragic deaths of three siblings at Ratanda Primary and Khanya Lesedi Secondary Schools in Ratanda.

The brothers, aged 6, 13, and 16, died on Thursday after their father gave his five children energy drinks while they were preparing for school.

Two of the boys died on school premises while the third died on his way to the hospital.

A fourth brother is in critical condition at a local hospital.

I am saddened to learn about a father, who this morning allegedly poisoned his 4 children. 2 children died in our school premises while the 3rd died on his way to hospital. The 4th child is in a critical condition at the local hospital. My sincerest condolences @EducationGP1

The fifth brother did not consume the energy drink and is fine.
