Witchcraft In Mpumalanga.

Some people identify witchcraft with the Devil because they regard it as having negative implications and in their view, witchcraft is related with the Devil.

People have a widespread belief that witches are at their most active during the night, when the majority of morally upstanding citizens are asleep. Ancient Navajos held the belief that a witch who wore the skin of a creature that had just just passed away could assume the form of any animal that she encountered when out during the night.

These “skinwalkers” convene about twelve in the morning around the wicker baskets in which they store the dead bodies of their victims. A number of African societies have the belief that witches execute their rites in close proximity to fire pits or cemeteries, and that after their ceremonies, they consume the flesh of the people they have killed.

If the person’s spirit is taken away from their body while they are being treated, they will eventually die. It is a widely held belief that African witches participate in the same kinds of perversions as their Western counterparts, such as the abuse of children, Satanism, and other forms of evil.
