Drunk Driver Arrested After Vehicle Crashes Through Wall Into Swimming Pool. A shocking late-evening crash in Glen Marais, Kempton Park, left residents shaken after a car smashed through a residential boundary wall and came to rest inside a private swimming pool. The driver was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and malicious damage to property.

The incident occurred on the evening of Saturday, 25 January 2026, when routine patrols by private security company Blue Hawk Tactical encountered the scene shortly after the crash. According to eyewitnesses, a blue sedan veered off the road, broke through the boundary wall of a home, and ended up partially submerged in the swimming pool. Debris from the wall was scattered across the property, and vehicle fluids leaked into the water, adding to the chaotic scene.
Multiple emergency and safety agencies responded quickly, including ER24, several private security companies, Community Policing Forum representatives, SaferCity, the City of Ekurhuleni Fire Department, and the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD). Firefighters helped secure the area, ensuring there were no immediate fuel or electrical hazards, while security personnel managed access to prevent interference.
Upon assessment, EMPD officers confirmed the driver showed clear signs of alcohol impairment and arrested the individual on the spot. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Residents and bystanders were unharmed, though authorities noted the potential for a far more serious outcome given the residential setting and evening timing.
The crash has raised concerns among locals about reckless driving in residential streets, highlighting the risks to both lives and property. Many residents said they were alarmed by the loud impact and subsequent emergency response.
