Lamiez’s warning could save a life! DJ Lamiez Holworthy has issued out a warning to upcoming DJs and artists at large. As a DJ who has navigated through the industry and has a strong management, she knows a few things about legit event organisers and scammers.

Lamiez's warning could save a life!

The much loved DJ said upcoming artists should be careful that they do not fall prey to vultures who will scam them off their money and time. She said they will send you fake proof pf payments to make it seem as though they did pay you but the amount never reflects. Then they make you book your own flights, accommodation etc. and make you pay for interviews.

“Dear upcoming artists and DJs. There’s a growing trend of scammers who take advantage of the vulnerable. Please note that even though these fake promoters send you Proof of payment (saying it will clear after three days) -NO ONE will ask or need you to use your own money for flights and accommodation. The same as no one would make you pay for a LEGIT Radio or Tv audition/interview.”

She then said people who do this are preying on the artist’s vulnerability, “Anyone who promises you such is simply taking you for a ride and taking advantage of your vulnerability. It pains me because I know of one too many victims of this.

“If you are unsure of something, please ask and do your research before using your hard earned money for whatever it is that they’ve promised.

I know it gets hard, trust me I’ve been there. I started in 2010 and I know how frustrating it gets. But believe me when I say ,in time- it will all pay off!”

Lamiez then shared a before and after picture of herself when she started out in 2010 and now.

Lamiez is one wise woman who knows who she is and what she stands for. The star who has been body shamed countless times decided to educate her trolls instead of hitting back at them.

While on a trip to Dubai with her husband, Khuli Chana, she got trolled for posting dark inner thighs while wearing a zebra printed swimming costume.

“After reading the crazy comments under this post, I decided to use this opportunity to TEACH,” she started off.

Lamiez then said she does not edit her pictures for this reason, to make other women feel comfortable about themselves.

“There’s a reason why I didn’t edit or use a filter to hide my thighs simply because…Dark skin on the inner thighs can be experienced by anyone, regardless of skin tone. It occurs when the skin on the inner thigh produces an abundance of melanin, a pigment that gives skin its color.”

“This is called hyperpigmentation. The discoloration of dark inner thighs may even stretch into the bikini or groin area. Black child, it is perfectly normal and okay,” she said before putting her trolls on blast. “And to everyone else, before ong phaphela (before you become forward) or anyone else for that matter- ask yourself gore “Ke tsena kae” (what does that have to do with me?) I don’t have a problem with it, so why should you????”

Lamiez is well aware of her position in society and she wants other women to learn from her, what positivity is.

“You know why? I am tired of women (young and old) putting themselves under unnecessary pressure because of social media and it’s fucked up standards! Imagine trying to look like someone who doesn’t even look like themselves?!” she said.

“I am a public figure with millions of followers- most of who are woman of all ages and it is my responsibility to show them that it is OKAY TO BE NORMAL and that NO ONE can use your flaws against you when you make peace with them.”
