‘Skeem Saam’ Pays Heartfelt Tribute To Patrick Shai. SABC 1 soapie Skeem Saam has paid tribute to the late legendary actor Patrick Shai who died last weekend. Patrick Shai allegedly committed suicide in the garage at his house in Dobsonville, Soweto.

Skeem Saam paid tribute to the late veteran actor by recalling Patrick Shai’s excellent portrayal of ‘Lucas Seakamela’, Pretty’s father. Shai’s performance as Lucas Seakemela earned him acclaim and popularity from fans and critics alike.

The veteran actor received a SAFTA (South African Film and Television Awards) nomination for his role on Skeem Saam in 2014. Paying tribute to the late veteran actor, Skeem Saam wrote,

In 2014, Patrick Shai earned a SAFTA Nomination for the brilliant portrayal of the character ‘Lucas Seakamela’ on #SkeemSaam Season 2. Not once has he failed to give us an unforgettable performance. As we celebrate his life and mourn his death, we say #RIPPatrickShai.
